How to Create a Bulleted or Numbered List in an Article

Sometimes while writing you'll discover that you will need to list various items. For example, let's say you're writing a post or article that includes a recipe. When it comes to listing the ingredients, one way is to list them with commas separating each item. It could read something like: two eggs, 1 cup of flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract and ½ teaspoon of baking soda. Now, these are not ingredients for real recipe, but merely showing how a list of ingredients can be written. As you can see it's not the easiest way to follow along. What would look much nicer in an article can be easier to read is a bulleted list.

If wanting to create a list in this style, if you are using Word, under the paragraph section, find the icon for bullets. It should look like dots, followed by lines. By clicking it, you should have a dot show up on the article you're writing.

Another way of creating a list is by making a numbered list. Also in the paragraph section on Word is a numbering list. Look for numbers 1, 2, 3, followed by lines. A numbered list is a great way to write out instructions as to how to do something step-by-step. To give you an idea of what this looks like in a published article, click on the following link for an article that includes both a bulleted and numbered list.

When writing a list in an article or post, it can be much easier for the reader to read your list if it is some kind of list form whether it be in bullet or number form.
